What Canadian wine region makes the best sparkling wine?
BC and Ontario are pretty much equal in their sparking wine production both in quality and
amount. In BC, Sumac Ridge, located in the Okanagan Valley, started a sparkling wine research program
in 1985 and released its first commercial sparkling wine in 1989.
What are some wineries that create great Canadian sparkling wines?
I haven't tried as many Canadian sparkling wines as I should but here are a few
wineries that do produce good sparkling.
My favorite sparkling wine from Niagara is from 13th Street Wines.
It isa dryer style of champange but perfect at the start of a nice meal. They produce two different sparkling
wines, the Cuvée Thirteen Sparkling Wine ($22) and their Blanc de Noir ($40).
More recently Peller Estates has finally mastered their Signature Series Ice Cuvée VQA.
After tasting their wine at the Ontario Wine Awards
I was blown away with this sparkling wine; at a price of $29.95 some might find it price but I think it is worth it.
Who produces the best BC sparkling wine?
Summerhill produces an amazing bottle of bubbly. It's
Cipes Blanc de Noir is a
fantastic bubbly that provides a blanc de noir experience with a bubbly and sweetish finish. This wine
will be enjoyed by a full range of wine drinkers. At $34.95 it isn't cheap but will be memorable for
everyone that tries this sparkling wine.

Why doesn't Canada produce any champagne?
The simple answer, Champagne is only produced in the Champagne region of France.
Some regions outside of France call their wine Champagne but this if frowned
on and France has been working hard to make sure only their sparkling wine is
called Champagne.

I have tried have been amazing! Pillitteri's 2002 Riesling Sparkling Icewine was
wonderful wine lots of sweetness, great bubbles, and nice acidity to balance the

Who is Canada's sparkling wine expert?
This question of Canada sparkling wine expert is definately up for grabs. Even the titles of Ontario sparkling wine expert
or BC sparkling wine are argued. But, I seem to be earning the reputation, which is a huge over statement in my humble opinion,
