Wine tasting is an experience you simply have to try at least once in your life.  There are so many wonderful wines out there and each brand is unique in flavor, texture, and aroma.  Wines like dry wines and natural sweet wines are also a lot healthier than other alcoholic beverages since they don’t contain nearly as much sugar.

Drink Lots of Water

Drinking water when you are enjoying your wine isn’t much fun but you should at least grab a glass of water before bed.  Water helps get all that alcohol out of your system quicker.  Alcohol also has a tendency to dehydrate your body which causes most hangover symptoms such as a headache.  By drinking lots of water before going to bed and early in the morning when you wake up, you can overcome or even prevent your hangover.

Take an OTC Pain Reliever

If you don’t have the time to deal with that pounding headache then an OTC pain relievers can help you get rid of some of the throbbing and fuzziness.

Enjoy a Cup of Strong Coffee

Caffeine won’t do much for your headache nor for any of those stuffy, puffy and heavy hangover feelings but it sure does give you the needed spike of energy so you can get out of bed.

Use a Cold Compress

Grab a bag of peas or wrap a bag of ice in a cloth and press it against your head or the back of your head to help alleviate a throbbing headache.

Avoid Direct Sunlight

Bright lights can make your headache a lot worse.  If you are particularly fragile after your wine tasting evening then you should keep the shades closed, wear sunglasses when going out and avoid direct sunlight.

Eat Something Wholesome

It can be tough to get a good breakfast down if you feel all nauseous but a good breakfast will help you raise your blood sugar so you can feel better.  If you are feeling particularly bad, then avoid fatty, greasy and dairy foods.  Fruits, crackers, and toast are superb because these won’t upset your stomach and will help you balance out a lot quicker.

Don’t Take More Alcohol

Plenty of people believe that drinking more alcohol will help you get over your hangover but this is one big myth.  More alcohol will only make you feel a lot worse.
